It's a nice apartment for family. There are two beds; one bed in the room and another on the other side of the wall, near living room.

The kitchenette is equipped with mini bar, microwave, kettle, hot plate, toaster, ricer cooker and some utensils. There are also the little conveniences like tissue, dish soap and plastic bag. Bath towels, pray mats and drinking water are also provided.

Location - Very good. Within walking distance to Mural Palestine in Medan Ilmu, Kedai Kopi Din Tokyo, Pasar Siti Khadijah, etc.

Dining - NA but there are a couple of good eateries around the building

Service - Average. Easy check-in and check-out. No fuss.

Although it is a good option for big group, I think it's more suitable for family and close friends of not more than 4 pax. There's only one bathroom so it can be quite tricky in the morning if you have too many people in the same apartment. And if you aren't close with your travel companions, you might feel shy about sharing the bathroom and access to the bedroom.

The official name of this mosque is Masjid Jubli Perak Sultan Ismail Petra. However, it is more popularly known as Masjid Beijing.

  It is right by the Pasir Mas - Rantau Panjang highway and you can easily find it using Waze or Google Map.

  The mosque is gorgeous! If you love architecture, be sure to visit. I saw some stalls near the mosque's front entrance. It's nice to see that this mosque is being utilised as more than just a place of worship.

While the price may seem a bit expensive, I assure you that it's SO worth it. The food was delicious and service was excellent! Staff was very courteous and helpful. We came in without reservation but the nice hostess accommodated us anyway. We were first seated at low tables. Once a dining table was available, she invited us over. The food recommended was as delicious as promised.

  This place is perfect for a special dinner or lunch with friends and family. Parking available in the basement.

I will usually avoid KL. Especially KLCC area. Crazy traffic, expensive parking and just too far away from Damansara =p

However, a bunch of friends convinced me to meet up in KL, and very near KLCC.

A cozy place to have coffee and desserts with your friends. The friendly staff and owner also serve snacks and carry the La Juiceria juice brand. Check out the menu on their website here.

One of my friends was so friendly and he got a free créme brulee. Really, even if the owner wasn't super nice I'd still recommend this place for hangout with girlfriends.

P.s. They have nice decor and spots for natural lighting =)

Nut & Seed Brittle

Nut & Seed Brittle

These brittles are known locally as almond crunch, florentine cookies, nutty crunch, bepang and several other names. Whatever you call them, they are favourite all year round. Making it is so easy, you should totally do it!

Ingredients

250g Bienetta/Florentine/Florenta flour 

300g - 400g mixed nuts
I used...

+ 100g almond flakes

+ 100g pumpkin seeds

+ 100g sunflower seeds

A sprinkle of black sesame (10g)

Steps

1) Bake nuts and seeds for 5 mins at 100°C. Mix well with Bienetta/Florentine/Florenta flour once cool. 

2) Pour onto two lined cookie sheets. Sprinkle black sesame.

3) Bake at 160°C for 15 minutes. Rotate the tray after 10 minutes. Leave in over for about 2-5 mins to brown.

While making these yummy munchies isn't hard, packing it can be quite a challenge. So here are few tips to make your life easier.

i) Pour onto one lined cookie sheet if you want thicker brittle with more bite

ii) If it's your first time, halve the recipe and work with only one cookie sheet because you gotta be fast with this thing

iii) Cut immediately after taking the tray out from oven. Caution: HOT!

iv) Use the white baking paper to line your tray. The brown one can be a pain to work with

v) If you're using the brown one, fret not! After cutting, take the whole sheet to cool for a few seconds and turn the thing upside down onto a clean tray or flat surface. Peel the baking paper carefully. Less breaking this way.

Raaju's Hill Strawberry Farm is about 5-minute walk from the Copthorne Hotel. Look for a small hill by the main road near Kea Farm Market.

 It offers strawberry picking and souvenirs but many visit for their dessert.

The Big Red Strawberry Farm is a popular tourist spot in Cameron Highland. Getting here can be a  bit tricky on weekends due to traffic diversion. It is near the Star Regency, somewhere 'behind' the Brinchang Night Market. Refer to Google Map for alternative route in case of diversion.

Like many other farms here, they sell fresh vegetable, potted plants and offer strawberry picking. 

The main attraction here however is their cafe. Check out the line.

The crowd was there for strawberry snacks like sundae, milkshake, ice cream, juice and other treats such as tea, scone and tarts. Avoid lunch and tea time on weekend if you want a table at the cafe.

There are shops selling food, clothes, keychain and other souvenirs near the entry to the farm. There's even a small arcade for the kids.

There are rabbits and colourful birds and next to the rabbit cage is the Rose Garden.

Climb up a small hill to the look-out tower for an okay-ish view. The stairs go through bushy trees that make a nice setting for magical photos.

Once you're done exploring and taking pics, you can also buy some potted plants at very reasonable price.

...or stop by their shop to grab variety of goods like tea, ice cream, fresh vegetable and cold drinks. Their strawberry ice confection is popular with the visitors.
