Plearn Wan Hua Hin

Plearn Wan (also spelled as Plearnwan) is a shopping mall in Hua Hin. This vintage-themed shopping 'village' derived its name from play + learn = plearn and 'wan' = yesteryear. It is open-air and it started to drizzle when I visited so it wasn't really pleasant for me.

However, if the weather is clear, you should visit and experience a slice of what Hua Hin was like back in the good old days. The period-style shops sold various pretty trinkets and there were hawkers offering desserts and snacks.  As you enter, stop by the props and snap some photos. Then, you'll see a kopitiam-like area selling coffee and noodles.

Plenty of eateries on the first floor towards the end of the street near the fairground but I didn't see any halal certified ones for Muslims.

Photo ops are plenty. Even down to their public toilet. So make sure your camera is fully charged.

You can also stay in the rooms on the second floor of this shopping village. The rooms looked adorable but I saw some reviews saying it can get a bit noisy. So manage your expectation accordingly. Contact Piman Plearnwan to book.

It won't be easy to miss the unique entrance of the shopping village from the main road. Use Waze or Google Map for assistance. Expect to spend at least an hour here. Recommend to visit in the evening so you get to see everything in daylight and at night.
