I was in Penang when I suddenly had this craving for ais kacang (shaved iced with peanuts and syrups and other delicious stuff). It had been a long, hot day and I was in need of something sweet and refreshing. And cold. And not from the street vendor.
So, I googled "best ice kacang in Penang". Now, I know there are some awesome ice kacang on Penang Hill but I wasn't going to take the tram up the hill! Not that day, at least. Luckily, Google told me about this place.
I decided to go to the one in Komtar Walk. Look for a branch near you here.
The shop is "outside". From the valet-like-but-park-your-car-yourself parking, walk towards Komtar Walk entrance but turn right before you reach the entrance. The shop is near the pedestrian bridge. See below.
Plenty of tables available |
Taste - Delicious & refreshing with a tinge of sarsi taste. I usually dislike those jelly thingy but I don't mind the ones in their ice kacang. Cendol is *almost* as good as Cendol Banting :)
Price - Value for money. Refer to menu below.
Ambiance - Could do with a better ventilation but aside from the cooking smell, it was comfortable. Decor is homely.
