This gorgeous chandelier-lit cafe is in the EmQuartier mall, near our hotel in Bangkok. It was late and we were looking for a cafe to hangout in. Most of those on our list were going to close by the time we arrived so we opted to find something in the shopping mall itself. That was when we saw this classy cafe and were mesmerised by the selection of cakes on display.

Taste - Good cakes. Meh beverages

Price - Standard Bangkok mall cafe

Ambiance - Gorgeousness! I think Audrey Hepburn would look at home here.

It is not a cafe that you must visit while in Bangkok. But if you happen to be nearby and craving for some good fancy cakes, try this place. Their service was excellent although you probably have to think very hard to remember a poor service experience in a Thai restaurant.

To end our roadtrip, Dr. D took us here for cakes. I was pretty tired after the long day; so after choosing my drinks, I let the guys decide on desserts.

Marlons+Co. offers not only interesting cakes and pastries, but also a small variety of main dishes and snacks. However, do note that they serve pork. Some of their cakes may contain alcohol, feel free to ask the friendly crew.

This liquid nitrogen ice cream specialist is a good place to start if you're unfamiliar with the scene. Just get yourself to Lebuh Victoria and find the Reunion Heritage House signage. It's kinda confusing la but it is definitely not the only cafe/eatery housed in a different name hotel.

 The staff were friendly and able to answer questions and even though the selection was limited, they were good. Also you won't feel overwhelmed when choosing. 

Pretty decor but most of the seats were upstairs so you have to climb up a bit. Kinda mafan if you have little kids with you.

Menu was all over the place and so since it was my first time here, it took me some time to order. I settled with cream based oreo blended.

I can't remember the price and the receipt was taken back by another staff who prepared our orders. Total was about RM70+ for 4 pax. Only drinks and 2 slices of cakes.

They have plenty of seatings but I imagine that it will be cramped if all those seats are filled. Not the most comfortable place for hangout la.

The ambiance reminded me of Moody Cow in Penang. Super low light, you'd think it's got poor lighting for selfies.

But we'll get to that later. 

First, how to find this Gothic-ish cafe?

With the entrance of Red Planet Hotel behind you, turn left and cross the road. Walk to the other side of the building (now you're on Nipatuthit 1) and continue left until you find this cafe. You should find it before a petrol station. 

Varieties of delicious and pretty cakes

Taste - Good! 

Price - Cakes from 70 - 95 THB per slice. Drinks from 60 THB

Ambiance - Gothic. Except for the tables.

The staff were friendly and very helpful as well. They can't speak good English but be patient and a little creative (e.g- let them use pictures to explain) and they'll strive to serve you.

Don't worry about the moody lighting. It's nothing some minor adjustments cannot fix. Look at that gorgeous red velvet background in the picture!

Considering it is one of the nicest cafe in Hatyai town, I'm giving it overall 4 <3<3<3<3< of 5

Each churros and cronut come with 1 dip. We asked for extra topping for cronut at additional price. Chocolate dip and Nuttella dip are good. Not sure about the salted caramel. I love the churros but no fan of the cronut.

I wasn't hungry but I wanted dessert. Well, actually I wanted croissant first. Then, dessert. So after I got my croissant-fix, a friend recommended this place. He even shared pictures of mouth-watering waffles with ice cream on top. 

They also serve proper meals but I am not sure if they are halal *certified*. You can ask nicely when you drop by.

Ambiance - Homey rustic? Do you notice that some of the desks and chairs are like those we had back in school?

My double scoop (RM9.90 + RM1.00), waffle 1 scoop (RM8.90 + RM1.00)

The extra RM1 is because we picked one premium ice cream each. The Pomegranate Lavender (sour pomegranate with lavender freshness) and Snickers Black (chocolatey, duh!). Sea Salted Caramel and Green Tea Jasmine are good too. The Caramel wasn't cloyingly sweet and the Green Tea Jasmine was refreshing.

Waffle 2 Scoops (RM12.90)

Parking is quite a challenge here so walk if you can. They can serve about 20 pax comfortably so you might want to avoid their busy hours. If you aren't a big eater, order the waffle 2 scoops or 3 scoops and share. The waffle was quite filling.

This time, I tried a different shop and although the shaved ice wasn't as pretty as the other shop, the batter fried thingy tasted wayyyy better than the last. So do visit this one to avoid risk of biting into almost-rotten food on stick.
