Another #PusingPusingPortDickson entry
Apparently many didn't know that there is an old fort near Port Dickson called Kota Lukut. It used to be a prosperous town, praised by Captain McPherson as a far better place than Selangor. Relax my fellow anak Selangor. Kita senyum je tak payah kata apa-apa.

Wak McPherson IYKWIM =p |
Pfftttt~ |
Before we go to the old fort itself, let's see the museum! Well, let me backtrack a bit. When looking for this place, follow the signboards. Persetankan Waze dan Google Map yang memang dengki dan suka menyesatkan penjejak sejarah.
Look out for the last signboard after which you'll have to leave the main road into a small road which looked like some jalan kampung. You'd see a temple on your left if you come from town. Keep chill and drive on. You'll reach the complex shortly.
There was no other visitor during my whole visit. It was a Saturday morning and if you hate crowd and noisy school kids, this is the place for you. Find a parking as near to the stairs as possible. You better wear comfortable shoes as there will be plenty of climbing and walking.
First steps to climb... from the parking lot to the idk, reception field?
Climb! |
Rest here if you're tired after the climb :p |
A little bit more walking |
But wait... what's this? |
Oh a lela! What a gorgeous killing machine |
Steps to the old fort. Which I obviously didn't take |
Drag you kids to the museum building at the end of the cement path. Let them appreciate the artifacts and stuff but once you earn dirty looks from others because your kids are too noisy, take them out...
...here! |
Outdoor exhibition |
There were a few outdoor exhibits and photo opp. but it was too hot so I rushed to the museum.
That's the museum! |
Another lela. What do you think- a replica? |
Can you name the keris? |
Mobile/Portable cannon. Perfect for home use. |
Money money money~ |
Just what were they trying to say about Selangor here?! |
Climb! Don't be lazy |
Gallery C was closed for renovation. Gallery B has aircond :D |
Back - Alat kebesaran (not sure if replica is the word since they're made of wood). Front - accessories |
Faham eh? |
Spot your suku! |
Because I am a lazy bum, I did not climb up those stairs I showed you earlier. Instead, I drove up the hill to the fort. If sayang kereta, I advice you to climb the stairs as the road is well... see for yourself. Definitely not for those fancy, lowered cars.
Those lazier than me could of course drive up the length into that smaller path above right to the walls. I decided that I can walk that distance.
Pretty, majestic tree. Imagine if it can tell you stories! |
Nah, McPherson's favourite gravel road =))
Drive, walk, crawl, wtvr. No space to turn up there so yeah ;) |
Impressive * o * |
Moat/trench. No crocodile through :( |
Look at those gorgeous red stones |
Once upon a time a prosperous town |
Guess what used to be there? |

Have fun guessing~ |
