Cambodia Cultural Village, Siem Reap

Cambodia Cultural Village

I like the concept of the park- little villages of Cambodia in one place

I hate how visitors are expected to follow the show schedule instead of allowed to roam as we please.

Start your visit around 1 pm so you'll have the opportunity to explore the place because once the shows started, well... you won't get a chance.

After passing the turnstills, visit the galleries on your left and right before proceeding to the first show venue. They will lock the galleries afterwards.

Tak mainlah sabung ayam. Kita lawan babi okay?

They gave me a brochure (got map of the park) and a piece of paper with the Dancing Show Program schedule. It *might* change when you visit. Remember to take pics while you're searching for the first venue.

Imma lioness!

Dah take pics sikit-sikit, bergegas ke New Theater for the Mixed Khmer Traditional show. Fun show even though sepatah haram tak faham.

From then on, just follow the crowd to the next venue. Grab good seats and enjoy the shows. Even if you don't like it, stay nearby so you can follow the crowd to the next show. The map given to me was pretty confusing and I am actually good with my sense of directions. Ask anyone who has travelled/hunt for car in a mall parking lot with me.

Mini-theater was hard to spot as we came from side and didn't notice the sign on the roof. I think I'd enjoy Charming of Phanum better if I get front seat instead of sitting at the back, bench at same level with those in front, resulting consistant blocking from audiences in the rows before me.

Go across Khmer Village & Floating Village to get to next show at Millionaire House. Only applicable if show schedule doesn't change. These 2 villages are among those that you should visit before shows start else memang tak sempat nak belek-belek and pose take pictures.

At the Chinese Village, they seemed to have 2 different shows. From Monday to Thursday it's Mixed Chinese Traditional show and on the day I went it was Happy Chinese Dancing show (Friday to Sunday). Ini kira show paling meriah siap ada api!

Then it rained and the show was cut short. Bertempiaran semua lari ke Kroeung Village untuk berteduh and wait for the Choosing FiancĂ© show.

!!! I saw the Judgement Tunnel & Ghost House was open when I passed by but since the itinerary stated we'll visit it after the Kroeung Village, I didn't stop la. After show, that tunnel was dark. Dah TUTUP eh!

After maki lite-lite because I couldn't go into the ghost house, we went to the next venue- Kola Village. It was right next to the tunnel and it was also dark.

Turned out that the stage is at the area BEHIND the signage of the village. I managed to find it pun because I walked towards lights and everywhere else was already dark.

Then it rained again and the peacocks (actor) from Dreamy Prince's Daughter and Magic Peacock ran halter skelter with no apology to the audiences who were expected to leave the shelter (they switched off the fans and lights) and head to the Big Theater (an open theater) for the weekend special show The Greatest King Jayavarman 7.

Decided to skip the free shower and walked around only to find all the other villages were 'closed' and dark, including the Khmer Association Village and Phnorng Village which I didn't get to visit earlier. Only the miniatures were lighted and if you only have iPhone camera, it can be a pathetic ending to an otherwise good park.

Bought tickets from tour agency, don't know why since the park has ticket counter as well and price was the same- US$ 15 per adult.
