Coral Bay Resort, Pangkor Island, Perak

So after my girlfriend's wedding, we took the boat to Pulau Pangkor or the Pangkor Island.

The ferry journey from Lumut jetty took about half an hour and there was one stop in Terminal Penumpang Sungai Pinang. Tourists, don't get down here.

Instead, you should get off at this jetty.

Here's the hotel I stayed in- the Coral Bay Resort. It was this or another resort nearby and I was glad that I chose this one instead.

Booking - Easy via Agoda.com or from the hotel's website. BUT my friend checked the hotel's website and room was available but about an hour later, front desk said no more room. Not sure if the rooms were snapped so quickly or website was not accurate.
Rate - Superior room RM198/night.
Location - Good. Walking distance to the beach and plenty of eateries nearby.
Dining - Good food. Average ambiance.
Service - Average. Front desk courteous enough but not very accommodating.

Overall - 3 <3<3<3 of 5

Apparently there are two types of accommodation here. The hotel rooms are in the main building while the apartments are located in the building across the swimming pool. There is a bridge connecting to a building opposite the road, but I'm not sure what type of rooms are situated there.

Here's the superior room. Spacious, clean and fairly well-equipped.

Breakfast is in Moonlight Serenade, a huge and noisy dining room, none like the name suggested. One side has view of the hotel's front and the other side has nice high glass walls with view of the pool.

Breakfast selection- acceptable. The usual suspects like cereal, a couple of local dishes i.e fried rice, fried kuetiau, then the baked beans, toast, eggs, noodle station and porridge corner.

I came down for breakfast before 9 a.m and the place was crowded. But by 9.30 the place grew quieter as the big groups went for their activities and the food were replenished. So don't worry about not enough food.

Good place for family and I'd say worth the money spent. Especially the apartments.
